Wakulla County Arrest History
Wakulla County Sheriff's Office is the main local arresting agency and runs the county jail. Florida Highway Patrol may make state-road arrests. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission handles conservation, boating, and wildlife enforcement. FDLE may conduct state investigations, and FDC handles incidents within Wakulla Correctional Institution. The agency that made the arrest remains the report custodian even when WCSO handled the booking.
One arrest can create four records: an agency report, a WCSO booking entry, an FDLE arrest cycle, and a Clerk case if charges are filed. They update at different times. The booking entry shows custody, not the final result. The court docket shows prosecution, not the full police narrative.
Wakulla Recent Booking Search
The official WCSO corrections page is the first stop for current county custody. Search controls may change, but the public result can include a booking number and date, custody status, arresting agency, listed charges, bond information, and release details. It does not replace an older arrest report or a court disposition.
The WCSO corrections gateway shows where the county directs a recent Wakulla arrest search.

This official gateway separates Wakulla County Jail custody from the state-prison population held by FDC.
Call 850-745-7100 when current custody needs direct confirmation. A person who disappears from the roster may have been released, transferred, or moved under a court order. Absence does not prove that no arrest occurred.
Looking Up Wakulla County Arrests
Choose a channel by the record sought. WCSO covers present county custody and its own reports. The actual arresting agency holds the event narrative. The Clerk shows filed charges and outcomes. FDLE offers a statewide Florida repository search, while a Chapter 119 request reaches public material that is not posted online.
- Check WCSO corrections for current or recent county custody, or call 850-745-7100.
- Request a WCSO incident or arrest report at 850-745-7142. For another agency's arrest, use that agency's official records channel.
- Search the Wakulla Clerk portal by name and filing-date range after allowing for prosecutor review.
- Use the FDLE Criminal History Information Internet Search for reported Florida repository data. It costs $24 plus the stated $1 card fee and is not fingerprint identity confirmation.
- Send a focused public-record request by phone, fax, email, writing, or at the WCSO counter when the online route is incomplete.
Wakulla Arrest Report Routing
WCSO publishes separate lines for distinct tasks. Criminal Records uses 850-745-7140. Incident and arrest report copies use 850-745-7142. The public-records custodian uses 850-745-7135, and the fax is 850-926-0896. The counter at 15 Oak Street in Crawfordville is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The WCSO Public Information page displays the report-copy route.

This source helps keep a request for the arrest narrative separate from a request for jail custody data.

A report is not ready just because the arrest happened. The deputy must finish it, and a supervisor must approve it. Call the Records Division for status before making a trip.
Inside a Wakulla County Arrest Record
An agency arrest report may identify the event number, date, place, arresting officer, warrant or warrantless basis, alleged offenses, probable-cause account, and evidence references. A booking entry adds jail intake and custody facts. Some medical, safety, victim, juvenile, investigative, and security details are exempt or restricted.
| Booking Number | Custody-specific identifier used to distinguish jail entries. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date & Time | When WCSO completed intake, not necessarily the court filing date. |
| Arresting Agency | Identifies which office should hold the arrest report. |
| Charges | Allegations listed at intake; they may change before filing. |
| Bond | Displayed amount or type may change under a later signed order. |
| Booking Photograph | May appear in an official custody result, subject to exemptions and context. |
| Release Status | May show release, transfer, or other custody change when reported. |
FHP Arrest, Wakulla Booking
A Wakulla County jail entry does not make WCSO the owner of every arrest report. If FHP made the arrest, the report follows the official FLHSMV or FHP records channel. FWC keeps its conservation or boating report. FDC keeps a prison-origin incident record. WCSO still maintains the booking record when the person entered the county jail.
Identify the arresting agency in the booking result before sending a request. That small check prevents a common delay. For Sopchoppy and St. Marks, confirm the present enforcement arrangement instead of assuming either city runs an independent police-record portal.
Note: Request the narrative from the arresting agency and the custody entry from WCSO; each office holds a different Wakulla arrest record.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
WCSO does not expose a distinct stable daily blotter in the researched official material. Its corrections and inmate-search gateway is the assigned booking interface. Use it to check current or recent Wakulla County Jail custody, then call the jail when release or transfer status is unclear. Do not read a roster as a complete arrest history.
The county jail is not Wakulla Correctional Institution. The jail holds local pretrial and other county-facility populations, including some federal pretrial detainees under a U.S. Marshals contract. Wakulla Correctional Institution is an FDC state prison and appears through the FDC Offender Information Search.
Booking includes identity checks, property inventory, fingerprints, photography, charge entry, screening, classification, and first-appearance or bond processing. Many operational details are not public.
Wakulla Arrest Copy Requests
WCSO states that report copies cost 15 cents per page or another amount allowed by section 119, Florida Statutes. A narrow request should name the record type, approximate date, arresting unit, report or booking number if known, and desired format. Florida law generally does not require a special form, identification, or an explanation of purpose for an ordinary nonexempt request.
The WCSO records and Livescan FAQ shows the agency's public-record channels.

The official FAQ supports phone, fax, email, written, and counter routes when a Wakulla arrest record is not online.
An overbroad request can cause extensive-use charges when substantial clerical, supervisory, or information-technology work is needed. Ask for an estimate and consider inspection before ordering copies. Active investigative information and protected victim or juvenile details may be withheld or redacted.
Wakulla Custody Status Changes
A roster entry can vanish after release, transfer, sentence expiration, or a court-directed move. Check WCSO first, then review the Wakulla court docket for a signed release or bond order. Florida VINE can provide custody and release notifications based on participating agency data, but its timing should still be verified with the holding office.
The official Florida VINE service is the researched notification channel.

This notification layer helps track a custody change, while WCSO and the signed Wakulla court order remain the primary sources for confirmation.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest record documents an accusation and custody event. A conviction requires a court outcome. The State Attorney may decline a referral, file different charges, or resolve each count differently. Follow the Wakulla Clerk docket to the charge-level disposition and judgment rather than using the booking label as the result.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by the arresting agency and jail | Created through the court case |
| Shows that an arrest or booking occurred | Shows a finding or plea of guilt |
| Lives with the agency and custody system | Lives with the Clerk and may be reported to FDLE |
| May be followed by release, no filing, or dismissal | May be followed by sentence, appeal, sealing, or expunction |
Note: A Wakulla County arrest is not proof of guilt; verify the filed charge and final court disposition before drawing a conclusion.
